How is the total payable fee calculated?
The calculator adds up tuition, transport and other charges (books, activities, lab fees, etc.) to get the gross total, then subtracts the discount or scholarship percentage you enter to arrive at the total payable amount.
How is the per-installment amount worked out?
The total payable amount (after discount) is divided equally by the number of installments you choose — 1 (annual), 2 (half-yearly), 4 (quarterly) or 12 (monthly) — to give the amount due per installment.
Does the discount apply to all fee components?
Yes — the discount or scholarship percentage is applied to the combined total of tuition, transport and other charges, not to individual components separately.
Can I use this for a custom number of installments?
Yes, enter any number of installments from 1 to 12 in the input field — the presets (1, 2, 4, 12) are quick shortcuts for the most common fee payment schedules.
If the total doesn't divide evenly, how are the installment amounts handled?
The calculator divides the total payable amount equally by the number of installments and displays each installment at that exact value, without rounding to whole rupees. In practice, schools may round individual installments to the nearest rupee and adjust the last installment slightly to absorb any difference — treat this schedule as an estimate.
What happens if I enter 0 for tuition, transport or other charges?
Any field left blank or set to 0 is simply treated as zero and excluded from the gross total — you can use the calculator with only one or two of the three fee components filled in (e.g. tuition only, with no transport or other charges).
